An Aerial–Aquatic Robot with Tunable Tilting Motors Capable of Multimode Motion

Aerial–aquatic robots have promising applications due to their ability operate in air and water with different motion modes. However, challenges such as water/air transition multimedia movement still limit development. Inspired by the aerial–aquatic behavior of wild ducks, an robot tunable tilting motors a delta wing is introduced. The can perform multimode motion, including flying air, swimming on surface, transitioning between water, diving underwater. Besides, buoyancy design enables float at air–water interface without consuming energy. Herein, performance robot, vertical horizontal cross‐media performance, power consumption, endurance various modes, evaluated. field experiments show that proposed possesses high maneuverability. This study provides new idea for structural next‐generation practical robots.
